Intra-muscular injection (IM) is shooting the drugs into muscles
as opposed to veins. This is often referred to as muscling.
Skin-popping is when you inject the substance under the skin. Unlike
opiates, it is never a good idea to muscle or skin pop crystal
meth.
When drugs are skin popped, they slowly make their way from tissues
into the blood stream. Opiates are easily absorbed into the body
this way. Because of the additives in speed, it can’t be
absorbed by the body like opiates can. So, it must be shot directly
into the blood stream via a vein.
If you were to skin pop meth, it would sit under your skin for
long periods of time eventually forming an abscess or other nasty
side effects.
