advice from down under
My recipe for managing that nasty but nice, little bitch Miss C.
As an occupational hygienist, health and safety consultant, I naturally have a health perspective on C. What I have found helps with what I call the 'party process' is the following.
BEFORE PARTY:
The week before the big weekend I double dose on water, antioxidants, good food, vitamins B&C, garlic tabs and hit the gym more intensely to train up the lower back, legs and other bits. Knowing that I’m going to be out of action for the Monday, I get important office and other things done on the Friday before the party. This allows me to chill for most of Monday. Condoms, lube, eats, drinks and other things and toys are laid out on the kitchen bench or by the bed so I don’t forget.
DURING:
I dose up on jelly beans or other soft sugar based candy to keep up the energy levels. Regularly drink water, rest, stretch and if I’m lucky chill out to play. I keep the hot sweaty bare back out of the airflow of air conditioners which can cause the cold, flu and bronchitis. I also keep warm outside when it’s cold.
AFTER:
It generally only takes me one clear day to recover and then I’m firing on all cylinders. I saturate myself with several mugs of strong tea and supplements high in antioxidants and garlic to boost the immune system for at least two days. I get to bed early (10pm) the night after a party to allow for a good recuperative sleep. On the second clear day, I get back into the gym and get the adrenaline running again to reduce depression.
If you want to have a healthy productive life afterwards then you have to discipline yourself and respect your body to achieve harm reduction. In the end it’s worth it, it’s your life.
Cheers big ears.
