baker beach
It's no big news that the north end of Baker Beach is a favorite cruising ground for a lot of San Francisco guys. And with cruising comes all sorts of other favorite activities (use your imagination). For the most part, everything that goes on there has maintained a pretty low profile and not been a problem.
But recently construction has begun to remove the toxic waste left by the Navy, making cruising there a bad idea. First of all, they've roped off most of the area with chain link fence and plastic tape. Although annoying, because they're digging up contaminated soil, it's important to stay out of the work area. Second, although you might fantasize about construction workers, they're trying to make the beach better for all of us, and getting in their way isn't going to help the situation.
For now, enjoy the south end of the beach. Take off your clothes, enjoy the fog and fantasize what you'll do once the north end opens again.
